Mary Coussons-Read

Description
Powerful Mind Coaching helps parents in academia invest their time and energy to simultaneously succeed in their professional and home lives. Some of the outcomes of our work include: success in getting tenure, improved time management skills, development and execution on short and long-term goals for academic careers, incorporation of ways of managing conflict as part of a skill set for work and home, and cultivation of strong personal and professional communication skills.

We work on a retainer of $125/hour of individual personal or telephone coaching. The fee includes email support and feedback between scheduled sessions. Group coaching is available for $50/week. Special coaching packages are available focusing on academic leadership and moving from a faculty position into university administration. We also offer four different interactive talks that provide forums for discussion and interaction for gatherings, retreats, or meetings. Each one can be tailored to fit the specific interests of a group. The sessions can be offered as 90-minute seminars ($500 fee plus any travel expenses) or 1/2 day interactive workshops ($1000 fee plus any travel fees). Titles of the seminars: "Painting Your Big Picture: Meet the Challenge of Balancing Parenting and Academic Roles;" "Picking Your Battles: Living and Working with Difficult People;" "Taking the Long View: Compartmentalizing and Managing Your Stress;" and "The Constant of Change: Reframing Unexpected Events to Your Advantage."
